Bought my '92 in August 2000, had 83K on it. Had the brakes done and had to replace the hubs/wheel bearings at the same time, had about 85K at the time. The original Opti (I think it was the original) went at about 87K. Replaced the Opti, water pump, plugs, and wires. Replaced the half shaft universals at 104K. Have flushed the cooling system twice, replaced all hoses and serpentine belt. Replaced the shocks. Replaced the Bose with a Pioneer. Has 112K on it now. I have done some of the work myself.
On my '89 GMC step side (bought it new), it's on its third alternator, second starter, second water pump, third set of cooing system hoses, serpentine belt, rear wheel bearing seals, steering arms, valve guide seals, plugs and wires, shocks, Pioneer CD/AM/FM. It has 104K. I have done some of the work myself.
My wife's '96 Mrk VIII Lincoln. You don't want to know. Bought this one in 1998 with 46K on it and we were able to extend the factory waranty to 75K miles (NEVER again) , it has 109K now and at least 8 grand in repairs in the 5 years we've had it. I do not like this vehicle, I don't work on it because I'm afraid I would kill it.
The reason I list all this is all cars require maintenance from time to time. You find a '94/'95 Corvette with 50K on it and it has had reasonable care, I'd say you'll have lots of miles to enjoy before things need to be replaced even then it will be normal maintenence.
my 94 with 104k has had a water pump replaced, head gaskets, starer, window regulator, radiator, shocks, and opti-spark but she still runs strong. Just normal maintenance and I have a great ride.
