Noticed a puddle of brake fluid under the car after a week or so sitting, brakes still work OK, but I'm fairly confident the master cylinder is bad. What is the typical replacement cost on these? I'm making a list of stuff to get repaired before next season.
Thanks for the response, it's an auto. Does that price include the booster unit as well? that seems to be where it's leaking from, where the metal resivuors meet up to the black booster unit.

Re: Master Cylinder Info (CENTURION)
That's just the price for the master cylinder. Get that replaced asap. :yesnod: You might find yourself at the intersection with the brake pedal going to the floor. (fluid is leaking past the piston, so there's no pressure in the brake system = no brakes.)
If the booster is bad, you might hear a hiss when you hit the brakes, or the pedal will be VERY hard, with little or no power assist.
Brake fluid can leak into the power booster and eat the diaphram, but if money's tight, I wouldn't replace the booster also unless you're experiencing the symptoms I mentioned.
