85 383 into an Astro Van

I am in the process of putting together a 383 with TPI from an 85 for my Astro Van tow vehicle. I have the complete harness from the 85. I understand the 85 compuer leaves a bit to be desired. With the TPI setup I got a couple different proms, one is for a basic 400 ci which I think should work fine.
Should I upgrade the CPU? If so to what? Is it a direct plug in, or does the newer one have different connections? will the proms I have work with the newer computer?

I can't help you directly but,
These people probably can.

I ordered their conversion manual a while back and I think it had a chapter on ECM's.
Can't seam to find it right now though.

I have a 95 AWD Astro and an old L98, was thinking about mating the two.

You might want to update to a 1227165 ECM from a 86 and up TPI car. The data stream is much faster and makes for easier diagnostics. If that isn't a concern the older system will work fine.
