After eons of planning and assembling (and after some setbacks in life) I finally got her started...15 minutes ago....but the exhaust headers started glowing red  So I shut the motor off. The wide band was showing 15:1 AFR. Why is this? My cam is very mild. Cat is in place too. See below for engine specs. Any input appreciated. Supercaharger is not installed. Injectors installed are stock with stock tpi. Stock prom should be able to handle this combo?
It sure sounds like it's running way rich..time for some diagnostics:
-What mods/work have you done on it since it last ran?
-Are all the injectors firing (put a finger on each harness)?
-Are all cylinders firing...what do the spark plugs look like?
-Are the headers coated?
-How long till they glow?
-Where is the wide-band & is it connected to the ECM or is the ECM reading thge stock O2 sensor?

I think you mean way Lean.... 15:1 is on teh lean side.... And lean is hotter... Which would acount for teh red headers. What is your fuel pressure at?
Well, mods are a lower comp ratio: about 8.7:1 ... Cam is a custom roller with 209*/217* @.050, .495/.515 (1.5) 114LC ...heads are AFR 190's (large valves)... gapless rings. Accel intake base.
All cylinders are firing. Header are not coated. about 5-10 minutes at about 1500-2000rpm and then they glow. ECM reads stock O2 sensor.
