Well as a result of all the helpful comments and suggestions I got here, I managed to determine that the spring retainer came off of the valve stem and allowed unrestricted movement of the spring and intake valve at high rpms, which sheared off the roller end of the rocker arm. I am missing one half of the two-piece tapered retainer and must assume it managed to fall into the valley area beneath the intake manifold (where else could it have gone?)
The valve stem is bent, which means I'll have to pull the head, which means I'll have to pull the intake, which means I'll have to pull........
At least I'm glad it happened now and not in the middle of the summer cruising season. Although I'd much rather it didn't happen at all.
I want to thank you all again for being so helpful through this ordeal. I dunno know what I would've done without ya. Probably would had to of figured it out myself.
Hey, come to think of it, that is what I did. How 'bout that. I didn't need any of you guys' non-help afterall.

That's OK. If you do need help, we are still here. :D
I must've been doing something Thanksgiving nite that precluded my responding to the post where you actually described any specifics......sorry 'bout that :p:
Now that I read the issue, I'd suggest you talk with the shop that did the rockers. A retainer failure is just too coincidental after having valvetrain work done. Best of luck to you, this could have some piston implications as well....... :(
