Weelcome to the forum! I don't have a pic but I dont think you need
one.. Simply remove the center bezel and then remove the info ctr
and you'll see it right there. A shiny box sitting in a clip. If you're still
not sure where the relay is, just tap the horn with everything removed
and follow the 'click'...I had horn trouble and cleaned up the contacts in
the relay and haven't had a problem since. Even if you need a new one,
they're under ten bucks..
PS- Make sure you have a good ground to the steering wheel button..
Horns can be fussy if the connection isn't just right...
thanx for the info sure apreciate it can you here the clik (is it loud) without removing the center piece just dont want to pull it if i dont have to when i put the wood dash on wich included cuting the crash pad out and puting a piece of flat rosewood wood in its place got it all nice and perfect i dont want to pull it if i dont have 2
If your 86 is like my 84, remove the accessory trim plate and console cluster. You will see a 10 amp fuse, check it. Next to it is the horn relay.
Remove the relay and you will see three female connectors. The pink and white wire is the 15 amp fuse to the fuse box, the green wire is for the high and low pitch horns and the black wire is ground. Check for 12 volts at the pink and white wire. Check for continuity from the green wire to the horn connector under the hood and then check the ground from the black wire to the horn contact wire. If all are good you have a bad relay, horn button or contact plate issue. I have the schematic if you need it. If you need any additional help email me.
I had no horn and the problem was the horn button. It wasn't completing ground. Apply a ground to the pin and see if your horn blows. :smash:
