I just thought I'd ask cause I remember when I was taking out my spare, I needed a wrench with a breaker bar to get the screw loose so I could get my spare out. On top of that, there was no jack and was thinking to myself that if I didn't have these tools, the spare would do me no good and would have to call up someone anyway. On a sidenote, I've never gotten a flat in my car, so I've never really had to worry about it.
I guess I just look at my cellphone as my insurance.
That's a good question! I run with my spare and have NOOO plans on removing it.
You can carry a full sized spare with your car. The spare wheel/tire will sit a bit lower than your current spare, but the carrier will drop low enough to fit a full sized wheel. Just make sure it is an ugly or beatup wheel since the jack will be sitting inside the wheel like your current setup and will most likely scratch up your spare.
Oh and if you spend some time shopping on the net and the furum, you can find killer deals on C5 brake hardware. I found a complete front to rear setup (rotors, calipers, pads, hoses, hardware) for $200+ship and it has never seen brake fluid. Im just waiting for them to take it off the C5R chasis and ship it.
A note on the jack location in C4s: On my 88, I'm pretty sure that the jack was in with the spare. In my current 96, the jack is in the passenger side storage bin and the handle is behind the driver's seat. I guess sometime between 1988 and 1996 the location changed...

hmmm, say that reminds me. I was out one night with my friend when he locked his keys in his car. He sat on hold with roadside assitance for 45 minutes, finally we gave up and walked home.
Ed Salinas sells them on Ebay for less than $100 a pair. Comes with hardware.
Not sure about spare tire stuff. I need to remove mine since it is pretty much worthless now. I have Z06 wheels and locking lugs too. Don't plan on carrying around extra stuff in the car. That'll save about 35lbs at the rear.
