Correct me if I'm wrong, but with nothing more then a K&N/open filter& Flowmasters, this 'mod' wouldnt' do me much good would it?? Except maybe helping it breath for FUTURE mods......
:iagree: Dave. I would have him do mine before spending money on an aftermarket one. He is how I found the forum in the first place. When I was inquiring about him boring out my tb he sent me to a post on here. Word of mouth is the best.
I went the David Koldos route on a TB off Ebay. Totally worth the effort. Great quality. On an LT4/Hotcam conversion (through stock exhaust) I can quantatively report that you will see a pressure increase at the intake manifold.
Whether or not the engine makes use of that pressure increase is not clear (didn't pigeon hole that performance aspect at the last dyno session.... it was primarily for O2 with N2O). But data logging shows a consistent increase in manifold pressure.
Regardless, you'll like what David can do with a stock TB.

I think Bogus did back to back dyno's with a bigger diameter TB. It did make a difference on his modded engine. A lot of people, including me, bet he wouldn't see a difference.
Thanks to all that has replied. I got a hold of Dave today via email so I was able to forward his message to my friend here that is wanting a 52mm conversion done on his stock TB.
With the mods listed in my sig, is it time for a 52mm throttle body? I got the SLP Claw as a christmas gift and I could not notice a gain, so I was thinking perhaps the throttle body is too restrictive.
If I was you I would go go for it. Having the Hot Cam and EM LT headers let her breath a bit easier. I am sure that you will have some gains from the midrange and up. If you can get a before and after dyno run. If you are in the Seattle area I am sure there are a few dyno shops around. One who is south of you in the Tacoma area is Blood Enterprises, he has a Mustang Chassis dyno.
