My car has a 3mo old battery and has been perfectly fine up until this weekend, my VATS got tripped and after it reset the car started fine, sat from saturday evening until last night and started very reluctantly, drove it last night, this morning it was totally dead, once i jumped it it was fine, tested the battery and it is good-could this be related to the VATS problem? Any ideas on where to start looking?
Thanks in advance
Ben
I don't know if it's VATs related, but how is the charging rate at idle?
If you pull a battery lead and turn off all lights, etc. you can use a DMM to check for battery drain. Mine was in the 10s of mA range with everything off save for the ECM, etc drain.
Once i boosted it off it was charging 14.5~ volts, the battery charged fine after driving a little while, my thought is maybe the starter enable relay with the vats is bad and drawing, thurs when i am off work I am going to try and trace it down
Thanks for the base reading!
Ben
