As the subject suggests (and my new sig documents), I'm near to being a former C4 owner. While the new (to me) C5 Mallett 435 is bone shaking exciting to drive, it may never match the fun the LT4 has given me. And I suspect that finding as many real wrench turners in the C5 Tech section may be a bit tougher that it has been here. For all the help I've received over the past two years here, my deepest thanks. You're a great bunch!

Mallett is Corvette conversion shop (and GM skunkworks) located in Northern Ohio that specializes in C5 conversions. They make two standard packages...the Mallett 396 and the 435. The two numbers roughly relate to the rated horsepower of the two car's engines.
A 435 is built using a blueprinted LS1 block that's stroked to 6 liters, it gets a set of forged rods and pistons, a cam, and CNC ported heads. The GM shocks are replaced with Penske six position adjustable units. Mallet also installs thier shifter and exhaust. The cars get a special badge with the last three numbers of Mallett's serial number and are registered at the National Cporvette Museum. Visually, the cars are very dinstictive. The 435 conversion costs $33,000.
The Mallett 435 is actually listed as a separate car in the NADA price book. As I recall their web site address is: mallettcars.com. In addition to conversion cars, they sell a lot of wheels, mufflers and other Corvette add ons. BTW, they are a really first class family operation and are genuine Corvette enthusiasts!
