Default L98, LT1 exhaust layout differences

I want to put a B&B 3" exhaust system on my '88 L98. They only make 3" for 90-95 ZR-1 or 92-96 LT1 & LT4. I know I'll need to modify either one of these to fit. Which one has the closest layout to my '88? Thanks in adavnce.

anything can be made to fit... the biggest question is emissions.

the ZR1 and LT1 are both true duals. they don't have ANY Y pipes.

Are you sure you need 3" pipes? I mean... thats a lot of pipe... 2.50~2.75 is more then enough for most mildly tuned street motors.

I would save the money and buy an L98 exhaust. The gains are really the same and I always get jealous when I see the price difference for the L98 exhaust stuff. Just my .02

My guess would be the LT1 exhaust, but i'm not sure there is a difference.

I put the LT1 hangers on my car and had a local exhaust shop bend an exhaust. You'll need the 4 bolts that go to the bottom of the rear diff. The new bolts have studs on them to mount the middle brackets.

for the D44 they are GM part # 10098202

I only used the front and middle (diff carrier) mounts. The rear mounts (muffler) appeared to be the same for L98 and LT1

By the way the 96 LT4 also has a cross over just behind the resonator. Otherwise the LT1 systems are all the same with the exception of added O2 bungs behind the CATs in the 96 model year. 92 to 94 had one extra bung for a single post CAT sensor at the passenger side.

Thanks for the help! I know 3" is a bit big, but honestly you can't go too big :) Especially when the price is the same for the 2.5" and 3" kits. Anyone know of a place to get B&B cheaper than $1000?
