Replacing 02 sensors in my 96 Pont. Sunfire 2.4L. The one in the manifold was a piece of cake. The one after the cat is giving me a fit. :banghead: I have soaked it down in liquid wrench and have the special socket but it won't budge. What are my alternatives? Any suggestions? I know this is not a C4 but thought I would get more response here. I also posted in other cars. I apoligize if this is breaking the rules. If so then a mod can delete it. Thanks in advance, Guy

Re: Removing 02 sensor.... Help! (vinnies87)
Can you get leverage on the wrench in any way? I attach a 3ft Pipe on the ratchet wrench when things wont break loose.... Probably wont help ya but what the hell huh?

Heat up the exhaust pipe where its screwed in with a blue tipped wrench until its red hot. Then with your special socket try to remove it. It may be just corroded in place. You may have to use a thread chaser on the threads afterwards. Just get a 18mm spark plug thread chaser and clean out the threads with that. Its cheaper than a standard 18mm tap.
When the nut side glows orange, it will come out w/o a problem. You want the whole nut-side glowing. Juss don't melt the metal, or you will left w/ a hole to fill.
