torque converters
What does a stock vette converter stall at? I've heard that it's almost 2000.

~1800 for other than 85s. I think the 85s had a little looser ones 2000+.

Indeed the stall varied over the years for C4s; my '88 had a 1,500rpm TC stock.
What year is your Vette; it isn't in your profile.

Re: torque converters (65Z01)
It's not even my vette, I just have the converter sitting in my garage. I'll have to go find out the year it came out of.

Sounds like you are seriously short power. Are some spark plugs missing? :)

Re: torque converters (Gogobig92)
Believe me, if i could get an aftermarket converter, i'd ****** one up in a second. The problem is $$$$. I'm just curious what a vette converter stalls at, because i had one given to me and i was thinkin of throwin it in my camaro. My engine's already out, but would it do any better than the one in my 88?
