If this doesn't convince people to keep up with their maintainance, screw 'em! If you don't know when something's been changed, CHANGE IT! (unless you just LIKE sitting along the road waiting on a wrecker) And people wonder why we old mechanics are grumpy................ :mad

I change my fuel filter every 5K.
A small price to pay for a clean fuel system.

The car in my signature was FREE because it ran so bad. Did you know that the price goes down on numbers matching Escorts?
That's because it's not supposed to have the original fuel filter!
$17 later and I had a pretty nice running FREE car.

Those are great pictures. Now, what I really would like to know is what brand gasoline you are using? Hope it is not the brand I am using..............

Had my oil changed a while back, looked up under there, thing was old as dirt, the mechanic told me it was the original according to the numbers on it or something? Who knows! I didn't risk it though, 135k miles and chance of it being the original one, I swapped it out.

I've always used Hess and its the only stuff I use if at all possible, and never had any problems with them, but any thing is possible
