the throw out bearing on my 93 vette is noisey.... should this be a concern? I got a new clutch awhile ago ......should this have been replaced with the clutch? any input would be great

Yes, it is cause for concern and yes, it should've been replaced with the clutch. If it was replaced and is bad already your clutch was out of adjustment with no free travel.

Re: throw out bearing (Todd15)
I forgot to mention that the noise only happens when the clutch is out
Could have some kind of an interference problem in the bellhousing then due to worn parts. Not familiar with the Vette set-up specifically. I'm sure others will have more ideas. I have seen bad bearings that got quieter when depressed but not as likely.
Do you have the factory dual mass flywheel? The sound you describe might be the can of rocks sound you get when you install a single mass flywheel on the ZF6. I mention this because of your statement about the noise being only when the clutch pedal is out.
Only problem is, the stock hydrolic clutch is not adjustable. If it just started making noise and is only noisy when clutch is not engaged leads me to believe it is not the throw out bearing.
My 89 has 24000 miles on it now,the throw out bearing has been loud since it has had 15000 miles on it, as long it is just a wine when the clutch is out i wouldn't worry about it :auto:
I have an 85 and its been making noise for a while, Im not so sure its the throw bearing as apposed to any of the others involved. You can have a trany specialist look at it, but I would assume if you had the clutch replaced they would replace your throwout bearing, its simple and relitively cheap. If its driving fine I would get it checked out, but you may want to try synthetic trann lube.....that can help and/or quiet down a tranny. Some of the older C4s came with the "rock cruncher" trannys and they are natorious for making noise but being fin. Just my $.02 :p:
Throw-out bearing probably. They should always be replaced with a clutch change, many sets come with a new one. Replacing the pilot-bearing is a good idea with a high-mileage car. I would also check your tranny fluid level. If it is the throw-out bearing it will get louder in time, and eventually eat up the pressure plate.
P.S. the "Rock-crusher" was the old M-22 Muncie, with straight-cut gears. Hasn't bin used since the '70s
