I am looking into replacing the mufflers on my 1985s stock exhaust, just wondering what size inlet and outlet would be compatable with my stock system. Thx
They have stock replacements through Ecklers and Mid America. Should fit right on.
IMHO...I would upgrade the Y-pipe and mufflers while your at it, not so much for the performance standpoint, but for the stainless steel. I had this same delimma with myself, and I decieded to spend the extra $$$ and get a B&B. Just from hearing the guys on the forum, thats the way i'm going....
Be VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVERRY careful on your muffler selection! I installed a set of DYNOMAX mufflers and found the resonance to very bad! !!! If I were you, I would find someone with aftermarket mufflers/exhaust systems and take it for a test deive to see if it fits your EARS! The old saying goes like this "If it's too loud your too OLD!" Well let me tell you other wise! I like decient and moderately loud exhaust but an annoying resonance in the RPM where you are most of the time is sheer HELL!!!
If it chasses your date/wife out of the car because it too "resonance" loud, you will be replacing it with something else and wasting $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Take my word for it and fine a syetem in SOMEONE ELSES car that you like and copy the installation!!
