You may or may not have seen a thread by me whining about the stuck post on my battery. I finally got it out, but I have a new problem.
When I was runnng wire day before yesterday for my new stereo, I noticed a clicking sound from onder the passenger side dash. I had already pulled th stereo out and figured I had screwed something up. Rather than let it drain the battery (I have no idea how long it was happening berfore I noticed it) I figured I would just unhook the battery.
That's when I found the bad terminal.
Anyway.... I got the amps, speakers and sub installed, just wired up the head unit, replaced both terminals and re-connected the battery.
That sound is still there and I haven't a clue what the hell it is. The battery is pretty low and whatever that clicking is is draining a lot of power!
When I turn the key to the acessory postion, the sound stops.
Any ideas?
FWIW: I enjoyed learning a lot about my car with this install, but if I had known what a major pain in the azz it was going to be I would have paid somone else to do it.
I believe it has to do with the security system. Some people have also reported getting a SYS light after a stereo swap. Try posting in the stereo forum for more information.
Could it be a circuit breaker opening and closing? I am not sure where the fuse box is on your car but you may want to check and see if a CB there is making the noise.

I just got the same tip from a buddy of mine who is great with C4's... evidently, the almost dead battery doesn't have enough power to start the security system and it keeps cycling...
I hooked the vette up to the wife's car and the clicking went away.... the stereo came on (only 1 speaker though, gotta check the connections at the amp, see if I have them backwards)
BUT... when I tried to start the car, the entire car went dead. No radio, no lights, no dash, nothing.
Think I cracked the battery fighting with that corroded terminal for 2 days? :nonod:
I had kind of the same problem recently. There was a continuos clicking coming from the passanger side of the car. Turned out the battery was dead. But to stop the clicking I just started pulling fuses until it stopped. The clicking stopped when I pulled the interior light fuse which I think also controls the environmental controls. I dunno. Maybe this help. Good luck.
