Default My Lt4 needs more ump!!!

I have a 96 GS with 4.10's, otherwise stock. My wife just bought a 03 Z06 and the difference in straight line is embarrassing. Any suggestions on what it would take to at lest equal the Z?

Thanks

Heads & cam would be a way to go... Hook up the exhuast (longtubes, etc.) as well.

:iagree:Port the heads, good cam, LT's headers(shorties if you have to), ported tb(52) and good exhaust. This should give you more hp than the ZO6. Then you could always put a blower on it that is not enough. :jester

:iagree: LTx C4's spank Z06 cars on a regular basis as long as they have, ported heads, cam, high flow exhaust systems and a larger TB. But when them Z's get the same power adders, watch out! Then its stroker engine time or a blower to keep up again.

I know the feeling, the GS looks so much faster than it is :jester .
The others are right, ported intake/heads/cam/lt headers/exhaust should get you ahead a little if the Z06 is stock.

Rode in a brand new Z06 yesterday and it really gets it. The owner dynoed it and it's making 370 hp at the rear wheels. This is completely stock and 2700 miles on it. My LT4 with Hot Cam, 52 MM TB, EM longtubes and Corsa Catback is making 364 hp at the rear wheels. I can run with them but at this point it is all driver because the power is about the same.

Good Luck.

Yeah Heads and cam package, but then you need to do the bigger TB, ported and polished intake to get the air to the heads and some LT headers to get it out. If you want to do it cheap and fast there is always nitros but that's kind of like cheating IMO. It's a lot nicer if it is all motor. :D The Z06's are wickedly fast and for good reason, I'm trying to get my LT-4 there too and it looks like I'm saving for heads since everything else is there. :smash:

383 should do the trick. I can take most Z-06's that are stock and for the ones that are moded I have a 100 shot NX just in case.
