Two months since he put in the new battery. The one that was in it went dead after two weeks of sitting so he figured it must have been ready for replacement. He had checked to be sure everything was switched off but something must be slowly drawing current. I've left the battery in my '81 for 5+ months and had no problem but that year is less computer controlled.
Hmmm, I had a similar draw on my system. I couldn't figure it out so I took it to an electrician. Turns out in my case, the wires connecting to my starter were really corroded and almost falling off. A new connection solved my problem. As I'm not much of an electrician, I'm not going to be much help here.
If he disconnects the battery when he knows it is going to be sitting for over a week, does the battery hold its charge? Maybe something to try.
Something else I might try is to disconnect the cables to the underhood lights and also making sure that there is no chance the visor light is on or possibly a center console light. I don't know if '92 has the center console like the '85 does, mine has a light when I open it up.
My electrician bill was all of $45, well spent. He probably found the draw right away.
You can try to isolate current draw by measuring the draw at the battery as you remove and then replace each fuse in the fuse box. Remove the fuse, check to see if current draw drops. When the draw falls off, that should be the circuit causing a problem.
