Hi, I'm brand new, so far I've just been reading past topics. My heater/ac is stuck on 90 degrees, I cant get it to cool down at all, the fan works fine but the cool button is not doig its job. Any suggestions?
My heater/ac display ajusts from 65 to 90 degrees but doesn't make any change in temp. It can be cold out with the engine at operating temp (180) and yet it still blow cold air. Then suddenly it blows heat into the car. After it's nice and warm I can't cut back the heat. Haven't had time to install a new heater valve yet but I don't think that it will fix regulating my temp controls.
You can get a new heater control module from "The Last Detail" for about $125 or you can try to clean the contacts on your existing one. There is a Tech tip I used last year that fixed the very same problem. https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=92&TopicID=2
Its not hard to do, about 2 hours if you take your time, and it works.
Good Luck :seeya
I don't mind cleaning the contacts if it will save some $$ Where is the control module located? Also, is there any hidden valves the control the direction of air to certain vents, ie the defroster, dash & floor vents? I would like to clean or lube these areas. :leaving:
The programmer controller controls the hot/cold and other function of the A/C head unit. Its located on the driver side up on the firewall inside the car(Need to be upside down to get to it)
One of the resistors worked it self losses on mine (common problem)
