OK, I'm going through the list of what I want done. I was curious about the firmer shifts option. Is this harder on the transmission? My tranny always shifts pretty good right now, and I don't want it to go out anytime soon (48k on the car). and do the shifts feel more firm under normal driving also?
can someone tell me my TB size, injector make, injector size, MAF size? or could i just put "stock" under those? Also, tq converter stall speed?
Can't speak for benefits on a stock engine. Bought a custom program for my 383, and am very pleased. When I first contacted, spoke with Bryan's mom and he was in the hospital. Took him a couple weeks to get back up to snuff. Keep in mind, this is just a fellow doing this as a hobby. That's why the price is so reasonable.

No.

Yes, sort of. Depends on how he programs it, but part-throttle shifts can be firmed up.

Just tell him your motor is stock except for anything you have added like K&N etc.
Also, tq converter stall speed?
Stall speed cannot be changed via programming it is a mechanical feature of the the torque converter. Stock tc is either 1300 or 1500rpm stall on 4L60E I believe.
P.S. I rec'd my tuning via email today. Probably will load it tomorrow if the weather is clear. Been rainy the last two days.
Alvin at PCMFORLESS Programmed my 93 and this was the results:
My 93 anniversary convertible six speed, had a great day at the dyno. Last Sat. we went to Lee's Performance, Concord,NC for a few dyno runs. The first pull it ran Max Power @ 272 rear wheel HP. The torque was 311.4. Using a lap-top we made some ajustments to the fuel curve. The next pull was 286.8 rear wheel HP, with the torque 317.5. The changes to the computer gave a increase of 4 mil/gal. of fuel. My 93 is stock, except for a K&N filter.
I think this is great little vette.
mickey, i was wondering, do you run stock thermostat or 160? Either way, did he program your fans to come on earlier or leave them alone? I was wondering if he programmed your car to stay cooler (fans on most of the time) in order to get the hp up there? Because I asked him to only make very slight adjustments to my fans, I have the stock 180 thermo. I havenm't uplaoded the tuning yet into my car. Hopefully later today if it does not storm again.
I want to get him to turn my fans on early. should i go buy a 180* stat? What does the car have stock? is it fine to leave the stock one in there and have the fans programmed to come on early?

You should already have a 180 stat. There are two schools of thought on replacing the stock one with a 160 with both sides hotly debated. I'm not going to review the arguments, both sides make good points and if interested you can check the archives. I'm in Florida and went with the 160 t-stat. I also purchased a used Hypertech PPIII to reprogram the fans to come on sooner. I mention the following as reference ONLY: Hypertech sugests that you program your fans to come on at 213/205 with the 180 t-stat and 192/185 with the 160 t-stat. I don't remember what the stock settings are but I believe they're higher than 213/205. I'n no expert and I only mention this as a point of reference...
My 93 is stock. I don't know what all Alin changed in the compter.
You may contact Alvin at PCMFORLESS, I sure he has my program on file.
Thanks, mickeyt :auto:
Pcmsforless is a credible source. My brother-in- law Knows the guy personally, and did an excellent job on my 91 Z28 SD system, Couldn't have been happier.
Hi Guys,
I don't want to have guys think that we are slow to respond, etc... I was in Vegas doing some dyno tunes and a mini vacation. I typically get email tunes done in 1-2 days and on the way. I was so swamped when I got back that it took me a while to get caught up. Exchange PCM orders, or a PCM you send here to be tuned are also typically done in 1-3 days and on the way back to you. Quick turnaround is one thing we try to pride ourselves in, but sometimes in the spring when everyone is getting their projects ready, things get really busy. Glad to hear everyone has had great results and thank you all.
Bryan
Also wanted to mention that this is a full time operation and we try to be very customer service oriented.
Also, the thing with my mother :) she was kind enough to come to my home to help with my children while I was in for stomach surgery last April :) Just didn't want anyone thinking I was some sort of 30 year old loner living with my mother :) not that there's anything wrong with that :)
We appreciate all the nice comments, if you ever have a question about anything.. what we can do, how much it cost, how long to get it, where is the chip i ordered.. anything just please give either one of us a call.
Email is screwy, talk to one of us one on one if email fails. Both of us make it a point to answer every single email but I believe spam blockers and viruses screw up our chances of answering every single email.
Hey Alvin,
My brother in law highly recommends your work (Nick Pirrone). I actually was gonna get a chip burned for my 91 Z28 And he couldn't say enough good things about your Chip making expertise. the only reason I didn't is b/c i got rid of the car. Tell him His brother in law from NY said whats up if you see him ( not sure how often that may be). If I end up doing any heavy mods to the vette, I'll be in touch. It was harder on the Z/28 b/c it was a speed density, but the vette is MAF, so it is a bit more accomodating to most light mods. If I end up Doing Major mods, you'll be hearing from me. If you do talk to him, direct him here so he can see my signature, hasn't seen the new car yet
Thanks al,
Jack
Thanks Alvin! i didn't realize you moved and don't get to see him that often anymore. He usually calls here to talk to his sister, neice, nephew and I at least once a week. I'll let him know i talked to you on the forum and give him your regards. Thanks for your reply to my post; if I need programming, I know where to find it!
