I have a basically stock '95 A4 w/ 3.07's. Mods in sig.
I'm thinkin about ordering a pcmforless tune today, my roomate already has the akm cable. I'm just curious if anyone has any before/after results or any important info i should know about it. I see a lot of people on the f-body LT1 forums using it, so I figure i'd check out what you guys said. Thanks.
Well my roomate already has the akm cable, so I believe pcmforless can e-mail my program, then I can just load it to my pcm. $50 isn't bad either especially If I can gain somethin out of it. Plus I like the options of things like firmer shifts, and having the fans come on sooner.

IF they email you the program. Lone Ranger's been waiting over a week....

Re: PCMFORLESS ?? (red95vette)
I had a VERY positive experience with PCMFORLESS on my LT-4. The turn around was quick and as promised. Bryan Herter (I beleive) is the guy I dealt with and he was good to talk to.
The car picked up over a tenth at the drag strip. I don't have dyno numbers before and after, but when I did dyno afterward, the guy said the fuel curve looked really nice and was asking who did it.

Good to hear. Is your car mostly stock? Anything special or extra you got him to program??

Yes. Mostly stock. When you order your program, there is a detailed form you complete to let him know all the mods you have done to your car - anything from an air foil to head porting I believe. My mods are in my sig if you are interested. But, I had him also turn the fans on sooner, since in 96 you have to reprogram the computer to change the settings. So I indicated the thermostat I had and what my goals were. He also disabled VATS and CAGS, raise the redline a few hundred RPM, and the tune up. If you have an automatic I believe there are other things he can do as well.
Yes, that is same deal I paid for last Monday. I used Paypal. I'm going to call Bryan Herter after work today and find out why the delay in emailing my tuning. No reply to an inquiry email I sent him two days ago.

my roomate called him earlier and I believe Bryan said he was in Vegas or something this past week for an event. Maybe thats why there's been a delay in his orders.
NOTE: Just because you have a cable does not mean that you can write to the PCM. You have to have LT1-Edit to write to the PCM. I think you can use TunerCat as well but not positive. I have LT1-Edit and if you already have the cable, why waste money with PCMFORLESS when you can buy LT1-Edit and tune your own car hundreds of times for the same money?
They also send along a program that flash programs the PCM with the tuning. I asked this, and they said LT1edit and tunercar are not needed, only needed if you want to make your own changes to the tuning.

It's actually a lot cheaper than what I had in mind, and if I can spend $75 and have my car run better along with other little adjustments, then I'm happy. Especially when it's unlimited. Plus just over this past day I've heard so many good results about it, and they seem very professional.
I just got off the phone with Bryan @ PCMFORLESS. His PC was infected w/ one of the recent viruses and he has had a lot of emails failing to get where they are supposed to go. However, he has cleaned his system and is getting back on track now. He tried to send mine last week but the virus threw a wrench into the process.
It's supposed to rain here through Friday, so even if I get the file and get it uploaded it will be a couple days until I can drive the Vette and see how it does under the new tuning

Thanks. I'll probably place my order tomorrow to give him a little more time to get things back in line. He seems like a stand up guy and very professional. Glad to hear you got everything figured out and I hope you see some nice results from your pcmforless tune. let me know
