I installed a Comp Cam #08-501-8. Intake .488 lift. Exhaust .495 lift. Duration @ .050 Intake 212. Exhaust 218. Also flat top pistons, with valve relief. We calculated the ratio to be 9.5 or 10:1. But my cranking compression averages about 200 pbs. per cyl. (Quite high) I dont hear detonation but my partner says he does. My scanner does not show any knock detected and the 02 shows to read rich under heavy acceleration. I think the stock injectors are 22 pbs. Do I need to upgrade injectors to match the application with all this taken into consideration? Thanks in advance.
thats a good question... and I am not 100% sure, but I would think new injectors would be a good thing... if only because they are so old... I would imagine that the computer is increasing the duty cycle, so that stresses the injectors.
For some reason, I think the factory L98 injectors are 19lbs... not 22.
I need to clarify. My 02 just shows to be switched to rich under load, which probably would be normal. I have no reason to think I am overly rich. I just wonder if the stock injectors can flow enough to keep up with the mods...
