Iown a 93 with 14,000 miles. I,m experiencing some problems. My vehicle starts immediately and runs normal for approx 10 minutes or so,gradually it starts running rough, stalls, and will not restart. The next day it fires up as normal, runs, stalls, and will not start. Also, after starting if I drive immediately it missfires under acceleration with very little power, and it will stall when at a stop. It will start and stall. When I finally get it to keep running and give it full throttle it will finally clear up and run great. The next day it will repeat process again.
Because your Vette has so few miles on it, I'd have to guess that the fuel filter may be the problem. It sounds to me like it;s simply running out of gas.
All of the above may be wrong; but it's my best shot. :D
my 94 had been in the dealers body shop for about 3 weeks getting some rear bumper work done....(yeah i know 3 weeks! )
anyway.... while it was in there.... the dealer called me and told me my car was exhibitting similar symptoms as you are describing......
turns out the computer (ecm) went bad.....
they replaced it no charge since it happened in their possesion.....
Now i dont know wether or not you have the same problem or not....., but if you do..... i think the Ecm's go for around 200 bucks... and looks relatively easy to install as it is very accessible under the hood....
good luck...
Any codes? If not it sounds like the dreaded Opti.
:iagree:
But, I hope its not the Optispark, for your sake. My 93 was doing the same thing at around 65,000. Turns out the waterpump was leaking and fried it. That gave me a quick leason in the optispark system!
:smash:
Id place a bet on the opti as well, exspecially with low miles and age. I have a friend who only drives his 2 miles each way to work and his dealer installed opti only lasted 2 years and 6000 miles. It seems setting and short trips kill them. If it is that and you run the car very little or something like I described about my friend, you might want to consider the dyna-spark replacement opti. It has several improvements to help lengthen the life, ie. venting it with vacuum hoses, better bearings etc. Good luck

I had an 86 that acted the same way. I don't know how much difference there is between the two (beside the obvious) If you know anyone with a scanner and the ECM is spitting out all sorts of codes, then I'd bet on the ECM. Hope that helps. :blueangel:
