Well I posted this morning that I was setting out to get my motor in the car. Somehow it ended up in the sale section.
The motor is now in the car. Went as smooth as butter. One have to make one small little mod to the braces underneath to clear the pan. But was as simple as a slight egging out of the holes through the bracet to gain a small bit of clearance.
I could not be happier with the way it looks! NO FRIGGIN A/C crap in the way and cluttering up the compartment, and causing nightmares when you have to remove the passengers valve covers.
You can also appreciate a little of the color of the motor now also.
Guys you do not know how bad I want to get to the track with this thing. :steering:
Hippy: YES 67, but not malibu, its a 67 chevelle. Dad has had it since it was new and its in MINT shape. Original 396 is in perfect working order, sitting nicely on an engine stand safe and sound. The 4 speed Munsie tanny also in safe place ;) We are currently also with mine, building him a 555 CI motor! Should make with the Merlin IRON heads, around 750hp. With a set of AFR 357cc 410+cfm aluminum heads it will be capable of 850+ hp withou batting an eyelash. For now we are going to run the 310cc heads and see what kind of ETs she spits out. Should be low 10s
Doesn't that car have a malibu badge on the glove box? I am pretty sure they were all badged that way. At least my 66 camino had the malibu badge on it. BTW nice car. 2nd best year.
Congratulations on your "second" successful heart transplant operation on this vehicle! :jester
 Nice analogy JD  Congrats Jesse, I can't wait to see some vids of that Beast in action
Actually, I can clear up the Chevelle question, as I bought one new in '66. The Super Sport term was used to denote a package of options, whereas the Malibu version was the more basic car. Bucket seats and the 396 engine were the most notable differences in the two models (the SS), and interestingly, any choice of 327 motors was available with either of them. They were a hellofa car in their day too...... just not a Vette

JD, that is my Brother, Dr Azzato :), but he works on people and couldn't tell you even what makes his car move other than his right foot
Thanks for the clearing of that up with the different models of chevelles or malibus. Read somewhere were the majority or all malibus came from Canadian facilities. I would trade him in 1 sec for the vette. Could always buy another vette, can't find too many of them in the shape that one is in. He has been offered MEGA bucks for it, but will never part with it.
