Windshield Seal Replacment
I got a new seal from Corvette Rubber to replace the one around the windshield of my 96 Coupe...want to install it this weekend...I looked in Tech Tips and didnt see anything...was just wondering if anyone has any tips on doing this...looks kinda straight forward to me...but never hurts to ask thanks in advance...for any advice or info...

Just watched my windshield repair tech replace the weatherstrip along the top and sides of the windshield twice - the first time was using aftermaket, the second OEM. Aftermarket was harder/rubberier and did not even touch the pass side window let alone seal. The OEM is much softer/foamier and seals very well, fits better. I will never buy aftermarket - no comparison. Did notice a few things. The weatherstrip fits into two channels running the length of the interface that the tech used a kind of plastic popsicle stick device to work the seal into, really taking his time. Lined up the top corners first, then the sides, then the top working toward the middle. You're right - looks pretty straight-forward taking your time. Goog luck if it is an aftermarket piece. Oh yeah - he mentioned a good seal installed correctly will bulge up slightly just in front of the little black "wings" at the front of the roof.

hey thanks Caliburn...I got this seal from Corvette Rubber...they came pretty well recommended by folks on this site...seems like its pretty soft...Ill post Monday how it went.....thanks again....
