Just for grins, what should a stock Z51 85 Auto with a 3:07 thats running properly run in the 1/4? I have no idea what mine runs yet, and search hasn't turned up anything stock... but I'd like to know a theoretical baseline...

I've run 13.1 with my stock 92 six speed. Not hard to launch w/ drag radials. Warm 'em up, hold it against the limiter, drop the clutch, shift. Not rocket science, just real driving! ;)

ScottP1985, Ive ran a 14.6 on a bone stock 85 Z51 auto w/3.07 @ 94mph. (158,000 miles) As for which is faster keep in mind the RPM drop between gears for the 6spd is less than the auto, this keeps the motor in the rpm band better.

I also have a 1995 Automatic w/3.07s.....

My 60' with GS-D3s was only a 2.10.... room for slight improvement I'm sure, but I was only able to pull off a 14.2 @ 97.5mph (my traps are horrific :banghead: )

Car dynoed at 263 rwhp / 297 rwtq (see sig incase I got that off a few).

My times may be contradictory to the general consensus but that's what I ran with the parts I have.

My 1997 Trans Am pulled a 14.1 @ 98mph with nothing but intake and a muffler the rest was completely bone stock. That's with a 2.24 60' Same track, slightly better conditions and half the miles on the car.
