Default 94 LT4 conversion programming

I am picking up a 94 LT1 that has upgraded LT4 heads among a lot of other mods. Already has been reprogrammed by Ed Wright a couple times. I am looking to get into some tuning on the car. One thing it does need is a reprogram for 3.73 rear gears. It never got reprogrammed since the 3.54s due to the car the previous owner wanted to wait until he put in a LT4 hotcam (still running the stock LT1), but decided to sell before he got to it, so never got the reprogram ot fix the speedo.

What is the best software to use? Can I download the Ed Wright programming make mods and upload it back or does he lock his stuff down? I'm thinking LT1_Edit but would love advice from the experts.

Eventually I will want to do a hotcam or something similiar, so will need more programming changes down the light, plus think it would be interesting to play with some of the shift points, as I will be AutoXing the car, and its go a big 3000rpm stall, etc.

LT1 Edit and Tuner Cat are your only choices. My personal choice is that you should use Tuner Cat. One reason is that its cheaper and is not locked to one PCM and offers as much and more editable variables as LT1 Edit does. And IMO it has a better and user friendly interface. If you download the program that Ed did on the PCM and find it to be encoded meaning that you can't read it. Then email me the file and I will hack it for you.

Great, I need to make a new two-way cable since the once I created for my 85 only needed to be one way. But will probably be sending you an email in the next week. Really would like the proper speedo reading without messing up the current programming.

Okay got a copy of TunerCat & $EE ECU Def. files. Now my question is they say there are two version of teh $EE defs. Appearently early 94 used a rev.B??? How would I be able to tell what version I will need. Will I be able to tell that from the VIN # or when I download the ROM image.

Thanks.

Try to open it with the standard EE definition. If things look real weird, then use the EEB. 95% of them are all EE files.
