I've noticed some pulsing in the brakes when braking and turning hard (at the same time). Anybody else get this? Brakes are fine otherwise.
I think it is most pronounced under the unusual situation where you apply the brakes after having started the turn. This happens sometimes when turning left across traffic and the 'hole' is not too big.
I agree that it is probably a warped rotor. Take it to a brake shop and have them do a "runout" check on your rotors. They can usually be turned and trued up on a lathe if they are within tolerance. Turning rotors and new pads will set you back about $600, most places. I had mine done at MIDAS since I plan to keep my 93 and the pads are guaranteed as long as I own the car.
You're tires have a certain amount of total traction that can be used in any direction. If you do a straight line stop all the traction is being aplied to stop the car and you can break fairly hard without causing a wheel to lock and triggering the ABS. If you're turning while you break a certain amount of traction is needed to turn the car, that leaves less available for breaking and the wheels will lock with less breaking force. At the extreem it is posible to corner hard enough that any breaking at all will cause wheel lockage and trigger the ABS.

Wow, I've got to get into the brake business... You can have the rotors turned at NAPA for about $20 and a good set of pads will run $100-$150 another $20-$70 for even expensive fluid and a set of new caliper pins is $20.
I know its not my abs kicking in though cos i can always hear the abs pump kick in when anything triggers the abs - but i definitely get a gentle pulse - like a warped rotor or something - when i turn and brake - although im usually only braking gently. I can`t figure out why if its a warped rotor it doesn`t do it when i brake in a straight line - ill have to get my bearings checked and guide pins replaced and c wots up too.
