It's Accel's new DFI

Easy GUI stuff with integrated Wideband O2.

there's a setting somewhere for the minimum and maximum rpm for closed loop. i think by default it's set significantly higher than idle. sorry, i can't remember where those settings are, it's been far too long since i've had a look at that software.

I get it - I've seen the Accel stuff before. It is basically the same as the tunercat for $8d or other files. I looked at accel instructions and you need to set all the values for TBS, idle, etc. (matched to actual mechanical values). I'm not sure that it automatically adjusts, though, anymore than any stock system.

Yes, there is, and they are titled appropriately.

skippy, the part you get with the Gen 7 over a reprogrammed GM ecm is closed loop WOT with wideband O2 sensor feedback. plug in the exact a/f ratio you want, you get it. (within the limits of accuracy for the system, of course.)

I looked for an rpm setting but all I could find was a warmup timer and a minimum ECT temp(both of which I had surpassed). Any pointing in the right direction would help. Thanks

Yeah, I love that. This multipling tables by 62 different %s and then breaking out the calculator to see if you're close to what you want sticks.

Look on page 28 of the instruction manual. That's what I first saw. I think I'd better step out of this, though, since I don't have the system and don't want to screw you up or make an butthead of myself. :p:

Well, first I was suppose to say stinks, not sticks. Second I exaggerate a bit with 62 variables to figure A/F ratio.

My point was: with the normal ECM, you have your O2 reading and you have your base (constant) A/F ratio- then you have VE tables, PE A/F % increase tables, Temp A/F %, Temp A/F% for PE, etc.,etc.,etc. To figure your actual A/F ratio is too darn complicated.

I will be attending the GEN7 EMIC class in Clevland Ohio next Friday and Saturday. I will get your questions answered there. If you can email them to me and I will take them with me.

tjwong@qwest.net

If I get a definitive answer while I am there I can email the answers to you from there.

One thing is what hardware key do you have? If you have the standard key, not all tables are available to you. If you have the PRO key then all tables are accessible. Go to Mr.Gaskets website and download the 2004 DFI catalog and check out page 32 of the catalog, there you will see the pro key and standard hardware keys. If you got one of their plug and play systems then its definitely a standard key.

When you mentioned that the system doesn't seem to be adjusting, it sounds to me that the limits are not set up in the system. If the GEN7 system is anything like the FAST system with the WBO2 then there is a table that contains limits based on RPM that allows the system to correct by plus or minus X % which you define in the tables. It is sorta like defining the BLM low and high limits in the GM TunerCat software. This table defines how much the ECM can correct in either direction.

I will know much more once I get through that GEN7 Class a week from today. It is a two day course at Mr.Gaskets facilities in Cleveland Ohio. My first days will be spent at the Mustang Dyno facilities for training on my new chassis dyno's software and data acquisition system. So that is what I am really looking forward to.
