Default its electric

I seem to have a battery drain. I hooked a test light between the positive terminal on the battery and the cable. The light comes on. I removed each and every fuse and the light remained on. Is this normal for a 1985 C4 ? Will the computer or radio cause this ? Any help would be appreciated....thanks...Jim

First check for the courtesy lights staying on longer than 30 seconds when you close the door. Check the vanity mirror lights at night and the console map compartment light at night and the underhood lights at night. Do you have an aftermarket alarm, radar detector, or audio amplifier? If so, check em. There are 8 wires with fusible links on the battery jump terminal behind the battery. Remove the nut on this bolt and holding the terminals on the 8 wires in contact with the bolt, remove the 8 wires one at a time and watch your test light. If the light goes out when one wire is disconnected, that circuit is suspect. GM says the normal leakage current with everything off should be less than 50 milliamps, my 87 measures 27 ma. Some CFers have found their seat adjust switches stuck on. Good luck.
