I just loaded TTS Data Master And went for a run and think I have a problem. My knock count is at 5000+ and seems to get worse as the run goes on. I have R/Rs, could this be part of the problem? If anyone would care to help I can e-mail them the whole run to take a look at. I don't have a clue about what I am looking at and am reading the man. to try and intpret the data. please sombody help me get a clue.
When you start the car it is normal for you total knock count to be say 2800 or what ever number... What you want to look for is Knock retard... is this number is say above 3 or so at wide open throttle it can be a matter of fuel or something rattling sending a false knock...
If you can convert the file to a excel type file I'll be happy to take a look at it for you.. Just email it to me...

Thanks, I will try to cinvert the file and let you take a look. It is retarding timing over 3 deg. at WOT. The 5000+ count is on atwo mile run with two WO passes about 1/8 mile each. I have heard the LT4 1.6 R/Rs may be part of the problem any thoughts?
when you do you logging... forgive me I'm using autotap rather than datamaster.... you should log the knock retard and the knock count.. if the knock count numbers do not change you are in fine shape, it is also somewhat "normal" to get some knock retard when you shift....
3 degrees is not bad... the knock module in toye LT4 should for the most part compensate for your roller rockers... sometimes headers and ehaust rattles will also contribute to the count... look at your front o2 sensors make sure you are not leaning out at the knock occurances....
