FYI, I got 3 bottles of the Castrol oil from my local BMW dealer, and each one was $14!!  . Oh, well, at least they had it in stock. I will attempt the change maybe this weekend. Thanks for the great info :seeya

John,
I just got back from Brecht BMW in Escondido where I picked up five quarts of Castrol TWS 10W-60 oil. (It was $9 a quart) So when you come down, I have plenty for both our cars.
You buy the pizza......

Edit: More precisely, it was $8.95 a liter, which is about 1.057qt.

Definitely go with the Castrol/BMW oil. Bill's not the only one that recommends it, if you visit ZF's web page you'll find they recommend it also. Also, it should be changed every 30,000 miles.

Mines only got about 10k miles on it as its a GM rebuilt trannie installed right after I bought the car. But the fluid is still the stock GM fill it came with so Im sure its do for a change.
