Not sure what you've got but on my 90 I had that prob and simply adjusted the cable a bit ..has independent adjusters for both right there at the catches on both sides. try letting out a tad of cable..not too much though or it wont open. But if it's truely worn out I'm not sure what you could do. good luck:seeya

Try what Dave suggested and if that doesnt work, you can try
readjusting your hood catches, they screw in and out...
Careful, a little goes a long way... Make sure your cable isnt
frayed on the passenger side too.. I doubt the clamp is worn
that badly...Good Luck..
