Default EST Module?????

I was hoping somebody could explain what an EST Module is and where it would be located. Once I locate it, is there a way I can check it to make sure it is working properly. As you can probably tell, I'm not very mechanicaly inclined!!!!!! I appreciate any information given.

I found an old post dated Aug 03 by onecrazycorvette that gave me all the info I needed. I guess the ECM sends a signal to the EST (Electronic Spark Timing) Module telling it to generate a spark. Apparently my EST Module kicked the bucket. It is located under the rotor in the '90. I picked up a new one at Advanced Auto Parts for $16 and some change. Make sure you apply the grease that comes with it before you do the install. Once I installed the new module and put it all back together, she came right back to life. I really appreciate all the information that I recieved on this forum. It saved me from purchasing a new ecm ($150). Thankyou
