Re: Narrow body roller rockers? (atotalnincompoop)
sorry..
I havent decided on heads yet, but it will be one of these 3. AFR, CANFIELD, TRICKFLOW, depending on my budget after the rebuild, and cam choise.
Why I ask is that i got a good deal on used roller rockers, comp cams, and they are listed as "normal" and not Narrow body style rockers. I didet know that there where 2 kind of roller rockers?
If anything all you have to do is to grind off the drip tabs in the magnesium valve covers. The LT1 style plastic covers bolt on without any problems using, Comp, Crane or Crower rollers rockers in either narrow body or standard designs.
When I put 1.6:1 ProMagnums on my stock #113s with stock valve covers I had to grind down the drip tabs and narrow the bolt towers inside the valve covers but had no fitment problems with either the vent or PCV area.
I believe TF heads have the valves offset a little from the position in stock heads so wonder if that could cause some fitment problems with the ProMags. But TF tech support should be able to answer that question.
