Default Pulleys for an LT4?

OK before you start yelling at me let me say that the search feature is not working with a crap so i was not able to find any past info on this. Who makes the aftermarket pulleys for the LT1? how much HP do they free up? are the LT1 and LT4 pulleys the same size? i heard one time that the LT4 pulleys were the same size the aftermarket ones were so the LT4 owners didnt need to get aftermarket underdrive pulleys but i keep hearing conflicting information. if someone knows for sure that would be great otherwise if you can post some manufacturers of aftermarket pulleys that supposedly free up HP i can call them directly and talk to them about it. thanks a lot guys

I contacted both March and ASP, and neither company makes a pulley for the LT4. They both stated that lack of interest is the reason, the LT4 pulley is apparently different than the LT1

A LT1 pulley will fit on the LT4. The only difference between the LT4 and the LT1 was that the LT4 was equipped with a dual mass balancer assembly. It is nuetral balanced so that means that you can use a LT1 hub on the LT4 as the belt location is identical to the LT1. The only thing is that you will loose the harmonic dampening of the OE balancer. Thus this could shorten the life of the crankshaft.

That's why pullies for a Vette cost a lot more than the F-body units. On an F-body the underdrive pulley just bolts between the hub and the balancer. For a vette the underdrive pulley also has to be a balancer because there is not room to stack two pieces. This makes them cost a whole lot more.

I ordered an ASP pulley set for my 1992 (still waiting to get it over 1 month). The reason I am going to use this set up is because my stock damper broke. I don't expect to gain a whole lot. I hoping it helps my powersteering pump (run cooler)as I club race about 4 events a year.

Also for a 1992 you have to convert to a single grooved belt.

I love the ideas of what good things pulleys can do, but thinking about the downside of them just plain frightens me.
