I have a Ventmaster 1 (courtesy of a generous forum member) and I love it. My vette is having some electrical issues so I haven't had a chance to really test out the vent, but it definately improves airflow (no A/C in my vette either) and the exhaust has never sounded sooo good

Spring steel has very high fatigue strength. The plunger for the hatch ajar switch is only plastic though, and for the ventmaster, the only thing carrying the weight of the window is the pressure in the hatch struts, and that switch, which is bad design IMO.
I've used a Ventmaster for 3 years now without any problems at all and we have some bumpy back roads here in the Great Northwest. With the top off it sure takes the "thunder" away. It's easy on and easy off.

At times you do smell exhaust if you're in traffic and there's a breeze blowing the wrong direction but never while driving.

Also, due to the aerodynamic change, it puts a little more downforce on the rear end for improved handling!!

Well, I can release my hatch from my keyless entry while driving... So how's that for downforce?

I just got the EZ Vent from Gadgetman. Fits fine. Problem: The interior lights do not go out when the hatch is closed. Help

Do you have both pieces? There should be a hook piece that extends the latch to hold the hatch down and there should be a straight piece the extends the post that will turn your lights off. I imagine if you don't have the straight piece the hatch will still stay closed, but the lights will remian on.

Oh I'm just SO sick of hearing about your FREE hatch vent. I only barely missed getting yours myself! As Maxwell Smart would say, "Missed it by THAT much!" Just kidding, glad you're enjoying it. I'll get one by next summer but will use it more when parked at work all day because I'm more of a climate control kind of guy when driving! Old and spoiled, I guess....

I have the new units, hook and clamp assembly. I told Gadgetman that the screen will say Hatch Ajar( which can be deleted) However, all interior lights remain on. No timer shut-off. Take off the EZ vents, close the hatch........everything is normal.

Gadgetman is trying to help, but I see no solution.
