Got the kit NIB on Ebay, paid $600 (LPE sells for $850). This is the final mod, which will be put on the shelf (for, oh I dunno maybe 12 months) until the time comes when the next step up in power is desired. Currently I have the Superram intake manifold/large tube runners/52mm TB which I have yet to experience! (vette still in shop after 13 lonely weeks). Anyway, its something to look foward to, kind of a head game to myself
When I finally do decide to install the full "upper", I'll be an official member of the Superram club
Steve, definitely not a cheap mod. LPE sold the kit for $750 for quite awhile before they upped the price again. The seller paid $750 back in 2000 (never installed it).
Yeah, I hear its PITA, but well worth it. Do you know of any tricks to save time/frustration?
Also, should the SR runners be ported or are they fine right out of the box?
Brian, thanks for your input. As for selling the LTR's, well I've been gaining a succession of used parts now, I have a shelf full of them
Well into $850 or so in extra parts

Go to Sears and buy a ratcheting 1/4 inch wrench for the plenum to runner bolts. Also, if you have a TV cable, make sure it goes underneath the plenum, not on the side like the stock location. I didn't know this beforehand and had to undo everything to fix it.
Steve, thanks, good info on the ratcheting wrench recommendation. TV cable not a worry, I have a ZF-6 tranny. How long to install? Is there an issue with spark plug access?
put a slit in the 4 inner runner bolts deep enough for a flathead screwdriver and that saves alot of time. and also have one of those pen extention magnets with you the whole time. good luck and enjoy.
I agree, make sure you slot the bolts with a dremel that has a mini cut off wheel. If you don't have a dremel mail them to me and I will do it for you. The first 3 times I did it without the slotted bolts. What a pain.
Pete, thank you for your offer. I do have a dremel, as well as a mini cutoff wheel....bought this stuff when I did the valve cover mod for the Pro Magnum RR clearance
You may also want to consider drilling out the holes in the runners and installing Helicoils so you can install the bolts from the top down. It's a big time saver, as you don't have to remove some rocker arms to access the bolts from underneath.

If you do that be sure to safety wire them bolts. One bolt that gets away and goes down that runner will surely ruin your day!
