If your engine isn't modified, this is very high. Modified - you might run in the 50s.

According to your signature you have a 93 so that means you have a speed density control strategy. Having a MAP reading that high will cause a very rich condition. What cam is in the car? You should check the rubber seal under the MAP sensor, and see if its sealing right, or perhaps you have a bad sensor. Even with a Comp 306 cam in a 383 won't cause that high of a reading. Or you may have other problems???

A stock engine will have a MAP Value of around 35 to 45 kPA @ idle, a cammed up car with a 224 to 230 intake duration cam will idle at around 45 to 50 kPA.

Even with those specs the idle vacuum should be better than 65 Kpa. I have tuned several Comp 306 cams which is rated at 230/244 on a 112 LSA, that cam has an idle vacuum around 45 to 50 Kpa.

Dumb question but have you had a custom chip done for the car? If the idle speed isn't raised and if the VE maps are not tuned for the cam that too can cause this problem.

I was ready to ask which level of map (kpa) would be a stock L98 at idle with stock cam... and I see this post...
My recent short datalog says that at idle I have from 33 kpa to 36kpa with the shifter in D at 675 / 700 rpm.
With the shifter in N or P at 775 / 800 rpm the value decrease to about 25kpa 26 kpa.
Are these value good/normal for a SD car basically stock with stock cam?

Thanks
