Try changing your TPS, I had the exact same problem, and I checked my TPS several times and it always seemed correct voltage wise. By chance I hooked up the VOM to the TPS right after the SES came on and I found out that my TPS sensor was dropping to .28 volts and staying there, no variation at idle ot WOT. I flicked it a couple of times with my finger and saw the voltage try to clean up, the SES light went out, but then it went back to .28 volts and the code 33 set again.

It was either vibration related or heat related, I changed it out and have not had the problem sence. Code 33 has relationships between the MAF, TPS and O2 sensors, if one is out of wack it will affect the others. Give it a try.

Lastly also don't give up on the ECM, I had to change mine out three time to get a good one on a different problem. Take it back and exchange it for another if the TPS does not work.

I had to exact same problem with the TPS some time back, but mine never set Code 33. Voltage would drop really low (out of range), engine started acting really funky, but on re-starting the engine all was normal again, only to happen over and over. Turned out to be the connector NOT THE TPS ITSELF, so after soldering in a new connector, all's been well since.

I got the connector from the wrecking yard and I even posted about the problem I had just matching the three wire colors.

Since you said the problem only occurs when the car is being driven, then thats's what it'll take to solve this.

The trick to tracking down the problem is to duplicate the conditions underwhich the problem kicks in. If you could drive the car while someone watches the diagnostic program, you'd be able to see TPS voltage REAL-TIME.

The advantage of having Diacom or some other way to monitor real time data is that you can drive the car while someone else watches the laptop screen and he/she can tell which sensor falls out of range when the problem kicks in.

Does the ScanTool have the same capability? Anyone?

I found an achived post with a member that had the exact same problem as I. He solved it by changing the stock value of 45gm/s in his prom to a higher value because high cube motors suck more alot more air at all given times. If the ECM sees more than 45gm/s for more than a second between idle and 2000rpms it will set a code 33. I sent me chip back today to get it reprogrammed so we will see what happens. I have my fingers crossed.
