What's causing this-upshift light
I've owned my 87 almost 6 years and never saw the upshift light come on-it's an 87 auto, now it flashes even in Park? thought it might be fuel pump related-so I changed the pump and filter-didn't help. Could it be my ECM is on the way out? Supposedly the upshift light is supposed to come on for fuel economy. I also have a miss, next come the spark plugs. Any help will be appreciated-as usual. Thanks.

I've only seen the upshift light come on with my '88 when I held it in 2nd gear and held 3500rpm for about 10 seconds. Other than that it will come on if you leave it in drive at highway speeds above 70 and hold it there for some amount of time.
Sounds like you may have some sort of ECM problem.
