Default can someone answer this please

what are the chances that if i take off the egr tube that goes to the manifold to the header i will get a code?? i will be leaving the egr valve on and hooked up till i change the manifold. these are tpis headers and it is a 91 vette. thanks

I believe you have to get the egr code removed from the computer when you remove the valve, that said... you will probably get a code.

You can have the EPROM burned to turn off the EGR function.

If you run a 160deg T-stat it's quite likely that the ECM will never open the EGR valve to cool the combustion chambers so it would not detect that the system had been removed.

yes i have a 160 stat and the chip was done too so i'm okay them???

My code just set again the other day & I've had it both with & without the EGR control connected while having the tube from my headers blocked off.

Luckily I've got that aftermaket chip on the way from a fellow forum member w/ the code disabled. I freakin hate it when cruising along at 65-70 on the freeway & that damn light goes on....
