This was bought up in another thread, but I'm starting a new one hoping someone see's this that knows.

My 86 has two identically numbered relays for the MAF sensor, according to the GM TSB and a couple users here, this isn't correct and can cause problems. I picked up the correct relays from GM today, but both my existing relays are the same now, I'm unsure which plug gets the power relay and which gets the burn relay. It there something I can trace back?

Thanks

Jim

I have replaced both my MAF relays with the same part number. Look in the MAD catalog, they are the same relay. Just replace them both.

I used the same relays for both on my 87 and it works fine. I believe the connector to the burn off relay will have 4 wires and the power relay will have 5 wires. I also think the burn off will be the one flat against the firewall and the control will be at 90 degress to the wire wall but check the number of wires.

I just changed mine on my 86. One of the wires to the power relay has the red wire. The burn off does not. The Power relay was the outside one on mine. I changed them according to the TSB also.
