I was told that the engine in my 1994 was replaced by the factory at 22,000 miles. My question is where are the engine numbers on a LT1?, somewhere where they can be seen by the naked eye? I looked at the front of the heads, and engine but saw nothing. I was wondering if the replacement engine came with no numbers?. I just want to see if the numbers match up with the title or not. This would let me know for sure if the engine had been changed

the vin and build date numbers are on the boss right below the right head. If I remember right it is very hard to see due to various lines etc. in the way. You will probably need a small beam flashlight and may need to clean the boss to see the numbers.
