Default New Vette Owner - Need Technical help

I just bought my first 1995 LT1 Vette.
Low miles: 42000 miles, automatic.

I have been a victum of a gremlin, I think.

Car will running fine then shut down. Would restart, but after waiting a few minutes. Also, now door lock on driveside, only, moves on it's own, interior lights flash, and security light on dash will be normal and flash, other time not present at all. ( VATS issue? ) Interior buzzer doesn't buzz all the time either, but will sometimes.

But before answering let me finish.

I can start the car up and it will run fins, but soon after ( about 5 minutes ) will bog and cough and shut down the engine. Wait a few minutes, restart, and do it again. Since I bought the Vette, it has ran great for 300 miles. After great length of scratching my head I broke down and bought a scanner. When the car shut down here are the two codes I am getting.

Codes 42 and 36

Other Tests Conducted:

Fuel pressures during the complete cycle of running the dying.
Prior to start: 42 lbs
Start : 38 lbs
Start of hesitation : 38 lbs
After car dies: 42 lbs

Coolant temp at time of shut down (multiple times) ranges between 180 and 190 degrees, but once shut down early at 150 degrees but after a run with a long cool down period of time.

Please help this is killing me.

A couple of questions:

Did you buy it like this?
What do the codes refer to? ( I am at work, dont have my books here)..
Any signs this car has gone for a swim or accidents?

No, the car was not like this when I bought it. It doesn't have any signs of damage from water or accidents.

Code 36: Ignition Sys Problem: Loss of high Res. Pulse Signal

Code 42: Ignnition Sys Problem: Electrical Spark Timing ( EST ) is grounded.

Please keep in mind the on and off interior lights, and security light either always flashing or not.

Code 36=Mass Air flow burn off circuit
Code 42=Electronic spark timing circuit (EST). Suggest you invest in Helms manuals-you won't regret it.Great trouble shooting flow charts.
I know there's differences between 87 and 92+ so I really can't help-don't worry others will chime in. Although the code 36 might have something to do with your relays. One thing I might suggest is to change your fuel filter. One last thought-disconnect the battery-this will clear codes, it's possible that whoever sold you the car had a tune up-including timing-the EST needs to be disconnected for base timing and will some times set a code 42 after it is reconnected.

Default opti

if it is the opti.... why does the car run great until temp gets to 180 to 190 range then dies?

I would think, is opti is at fault, it would cause the car to run terrible.

Also, where exactly on a 1995, can I find the EST wire everyone talks about. I've looked around by the brake booster as mentioned in other posts, but still have not located it.

The EST wire on 87-91 is located between the brake booster and valve cover and is a single wire with a plug, I think it's brown, maybe with a white stripe.
