1) Which of the heads listed below would be the best for my motor?
2) Anyone with Desktop Dyno willing to run these combos through and tell me what the results yield?
Thanks in advance, here's the set up:
-383 four bolt main
-Bore 4.030
-Scat 400 crank
-Hi-performance GM 5.7" Rods
-Speed-Pro Hypereutectic Dished Pistons (12cc)
-Ported TPI plenum, AS&M runners, Accel Base (use stock for DD)
-LPE 213 Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam (224/234 112cl .496/.520 w/1.6)
-1.6 Roller Tip Rockers
- 0.051" head gasket (could be changed)
-LPE Longtubes
Head Choices: 1) Dart Iron Eagle 72cc 180s
2) Dart Iron Eagle 72cc 200s
3) Dart Iron Eagle 72cc 215s
4) Dart Iron Eagle 72cc 230s
Now I know there are other heads out there, but in terms of quality, performance and price. I do not think these can be beat.
All opinions welcome.
Thanks again!
I really appreciate it!
-Chris
That may be a little to much cam for even a ported TPI intake- Always better to go a little smaller rather than larger on heads if youre trying to build torque. Are you affected by emissions where you live?
Chris if you have the flow data for the heads I can run the simulation for you. Also the only concern I would have is with the TPI setup with larger ported heads. With what you are planning on running, I wouldn't run anything larger than the 200cc heads. You will loose to much port velocity once the incoming flow hits the larger intake runners. Especially with the larger cam. It maybe of help to switch to a retrofit roller cam in your engine to realize the faster ramp rates of a hydraulic roller. Of course the cost will be much more over a flat tappet cam, but the gains would be worth it in the end. Or you can also go all out and get a super ram for your set up, then you can use the 200 and larger heads with some benefits to boot. I can make you a deal on a SR (beat out Summit and LPE) if you are interested. Give me a call if you need to talk a bit more about it.
