How to use OBDI key

How to use OBDI key
I have a 93 coupe and have been using a wire to read codes. Someone suggested that I get an OBD I key from Advance Auto which I did. My problem is it won't go into the ignition key so where does it go so I can give up the wire.

No I have been putting the wire in the top right and bottom left plugs on connector under the dash on right side. Where does the key go ? in the ignition or in the connector under the dash

The "key" goes in the connector under the dash. It's just an overpriced wire. It goes in the exact same two places the wire did.
