Outer window felt install problems

Ok for a guy who can do about anything on a car I feel like a total idiot right now. I have been trying for about an hour to install a new drivers side window felt. I cannot get the little clips to catch in the holes. I tried tightening them up a bit and also loosening them a tad. It looks like the problem is I cannot get it to drop low enough for them to pop into the holes. Am I going to need to pull the window to do this or is there a trick to it? Thanks,

Have you read the techtips article on window felt replacement? I found it to be very helpful when I did the job.

I just went and looked at it. Unfortunately mine is not going as easily as portrayed. It will not push down far enough for the clips to catch. Suggestions please?

Got it. Looks like one of the clips on the replacement slip didnt line up correctly with one of the holes. Its the simple things that get ya.

Where did you get the replacements? THere is a difference between the genuine GM and the aftermarket. The aftermarket are the ones that are hard to install correctly and they make you curse a lot....a lot!
