My opti is now giving us signs that it is going south. I remember reading in some of the posts that there is a Chevy dealer in the south, who gives discounts to forum members. Does anyone have this Chevy dealer's contact info? I have been searching for over an hour, and have not been able to find it.
For the price of a new opti you can spen a little more and get a bullit proof setup from http://www.delteq.com where u get everything even ignition wires. I got my self a set after my opti went out and i didint want to spen 350 for one thats probbly gonna go out again as soon as my water pump leaks again so i went with the delteq and was easy install and now i dnt have to worry about the opti.

Check out Sam Taylor Chevrolet. He has the best prices for GM Opti units.
C4 Crazy, Thanks for the article and pics. I was wanting to know how to do this mod. This really helps alot.
I ordered the opti this morning, and will be tearing her down tomorrow.
The hardest part for me was removing the balancer from the hub, try and spray some wd40 on it when you get started, that a way is soaked in when you get down to it. I finally got mine off by tapping on it from the underside with a piece of wood (broken broomstick handle) and a hammer. Leave one bolt in lose to catch the balancer when it pops off.
Good Luck, if you get stuck let us know, this is great forum
Yep, Got one from Jason. I called the local dealers, and they were getting $675. I told them Jason had them for $319, and they told me that their cost was $339. The best the locals could do was $475.
Thanks for the advise on the balancer. Someone also told me that loostening all the bolts a few turns, then starting the engine for 10 seconds will loosen the balancer. I might try it.
